Four Breath-Taking River Cruise holidays for 2015

You do not need to be in the list of the world’s top 100 people to enjoy a beautiful holiday cruising some of the most beautiful rivers on earth. If recent statistics are anything to go by, then this is the new trend for enjoying some good time while on transit. Whether you enjoy the scene as it unfolds as you cruise up or down the rivers while on the sun deck, sip on some wine or enjoy a cold beer in the bar or enjoy the cuisine served in the on-board restaurant, then there definitely is a treat for you at a reasonable price. European rivers though, offer some of the most amazing views to be found anywhere on earth. Here, I shall mention four of the locations that should make it to your list of river cruise holidays for 2015. 1· Rhine River. This is one of the major rivers in Europe that flows through Holland, France, Germany and Switzerland. The area along which the river flows is known as Rhineland and has a lot to offer in terms of natural beauty. If you are a nature lover then you definitely will not want to leave your camera behind whichever part of the ship you will be on. The view ranges from enchanting forests (a good reason you should have the zoom lens), mountain ranges (I suggest a wide angle lens), traditional vineyards, and mysterious castles. There are a number of places along Rhineland where the guides usually take you on shore excursions.(Image by Lynne Hand) 2· River Danube. Danube is the European Union’s longest river and passes through ten countries and through four of the countries’ capital cities. The river flows from the Black Forest in Germany to the Black Sea. There definitely cannot be a European cruise that could be more “European” than this as the Danube takes you through the heart of Europe. The scene ranges from mountains to valleys both of which are filled with wildlife and vineyards. Shore excursions include ancient Bratislava, elegant Vienna, Budapest and Medieval Bamberg. Along the Danube, you will definitely enjoy the very best of Europe’s architectural wonders. 3· Venice – Italy. This is one of the most amazing and iconic cities in Europe. Aboard a ship or vessel of choice, the city that is made up with an amazing 118 tiny islands has a lot to offer. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and should therefore be in every cruiser’s dream as a “must visit” destination. On the cruise to Venice there is a lot to view including the busy Chiogga fishing port and the...

5 Reasons As to Why Fast Foods are not Healthy During Traveling

Fast foods are one of the most preferred meals for travelers. This is due to the ease in which they can be obtained conveniently and it is also affordable. However, the clear definition to these foods creates attention on how dangerous these types of foods can be. They are defined as foods that contribute little or no nutrient value to the diet; instead they produce toxins which have harmful effects to the body. It is always recommended by food scientists that travelers or any other users of fast foods should be very careful on what types of foods they are buying and also where they are sold. Generally, any intake of these commodities may lead to heart complications, diabetes or cancer. Being aware of these effects is always essential for travelers to determine whether fast food is safe to include in your diet. Here are some of the effects associated with the use of fast foods. Environment Degradation Before considering some of the medical effects caused by fast foods, the mass production and selling of junk food put a significant negative impact on the environment. The amounts of resources which are used to produce these foods are too large to cause a shortage of resources around the world. Alternatively, after using the polythene papers, yoghurt cans amongst others, there are disposed everywhere hence causing a major disadvantage to the environment.(image by elvisjamesmajani) Obesity It is said that every particle of fast foods hold a relatively high sugar and calories that may lead to increased weight gain. Obesity is attributed to change in the eating habits which are greatly caused by fast foods which replace healthy eating habits. The cooking oils and preservatives used to maintain fast food products make it hard for the body to shed fat and extra calories. Heart Complications For travelers who have problems with their hearts, eating fast foods is not a good idea. They create a much higher risk of heart diseases due to concentration of the high level of saturated Trans- fats which may clog the arteries leading to high blood pressure. Cardiovascular diseases are also caused by the high concentration of sodium and cholesterol, weakening the cardiovascular system hence making it difficult to perform physical activities that will allow you to maintain. Expensive and cause Stress Budgeting in traveling is one of the greatest aspects which should be considered while spending your enjoyable moments abroad. Continuous use of fast foods for low income travelers is hardly affordable as compared to fast foods. Travelers are always advised to carry along simple packed lunch for health safety and also saving money. Food scientists have...
